First and Foremost, Pastor Byrden is one whom God has called and chosen to preach and teach the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Pastor Byrden is a native of Sumter, South Carolina. He is the son of The late Mr. David Jenkins and Ms. Mildred E. Byrden of Sumter, South Carolina. He is married to the former Dorothy Moore of Pine Wood, South Carolina.

 Pastor Byrden is the proud father of three daughters, Tymicia, Tyandra and Regan Alexis; one granddaughter, McKenzie Andreah and one God-son, Eric Littles.

Dr. Byrden is the Senior Pastor of Grace Fellowship Church, Columbia, South Carolina and the Founder/President of R.T. Byrden Ministries, Inc.

Pastor Byrden, continued his education at Southern University, Baton Rouge Louisiana. He holds a Degree in Business Administration from Columbia Junior College (aka) South University and Bachelor of Theology, Master of Divinity, Doctor of Ministry Degree from Southern Bible Institute & Seminary, Augusta, Georgia.  

Pastor Byrden is a recipient of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Service Award presented by The Midlands Coalition of Churches.   On September 13, 2009,  Pastor Byrden was honored and recognized for his many accomplishments by the Senate of the State of South Carolina; State Senator John L. Scott, Jr. presented this award.  In 2011 Pastor Byrden was presented the ‘Key to the City of Columbia’ by Mayor Steve Benjamin.

Pastor Byrden is very active in his community and serves on several Committees and Boards; Lexington County Dept. of Social Service Advisory Board, Lexington County First Steps Steering Committee, Southern Bible Institute & Seminary Advisory Council Board and SCCADVASA – Faith Leaders Advisor Board and Executive Board member for Midlands Ministerial Alliance.

Pastor Byrden is Chairperson of the Citywide Revival, sponsored by CCFSC, also treasurer for Cooperative Clergy Fellowship of South Carolina, Chairperson of Late night service for Baptist Education and Missionary State Baptist Convention of S.C. and  Vice-Chair of Midlands Coalition of Churches, Columbia S.C.
